With acetone, the color approximates what this wood will look like under the finish:

I am not sure I understand are the woods in this section for sale? Or are they for people to pick out for their guitars ?

Hi Eric,
 
These woods are for people to select for their Alembic bass or guitar top. If you live close enough to visit the shop, you can select in person (and see all the stuff I haven't got posted yet!). We set this area up so that no matter where you live, you can still directly participate in the construction of your Alembic.

You have nice wood  Maybe someday ?? For now I am trying to build my second guitar and am interested in creating a Hippie Sandwich so I am trying to find nice wood

Congrats Andy! A while ago I almost picked this piece for my bass. It was so nice but then there were so many great pieces that I had a hard time deciding. I'm really excited to see what it turns out like. It has that classic Cocobolo look to it. What model are you having built? What ever it is, you are going to have a beautiful bass with that top! Red, red, red with killer black grain swirling through it! Again, Congrats and enjoy the construction process. It's part of the fun!
