Alembic Pre Amps & Power supplies
« on: July 14, 2013, 06:48:10 PM »
Have just baught a rack mount DS5R power supply waiting for it to arrive, but was wondering why Alembic have not incorporated the power supply into the F1X or F2B as an option or special model. Going to look if its possible to modify my F1X & F2B to do this, a rainy day project though.

I'm pretty confident that they would do it if that is what a customer wanted.

I think one of our club members used the extra space in a DS-5R to house a power supply for his SF-2..... thus eliminating the problems associated with the wall wart.

One other design mod that would be helpful is parallel input jacks on the REAR of the F1-X and F2-B models.

My two cents would be to take the F1x, drop the crossover, and put the guts of the floor mount Series power supply on that side.  Tube tone + power and mono or stereo breakout. Done.
