Hi There,

I have been playing bass for years and always dreamed of owning an Alembic. As of today, my dream came true!!

I just received my Rogue 5 string with a serial number of 97Q11099 USA, and I would be thrilled to know any history you may have on this bass!

According to the sales person, this bass has not been played. I'm not sure I believe this as I understand the 97 in the serial number means a 1997 model, and I don't see a bass as beautiful as this sitting unplayed for 9 years. Really, though, it doesn't matter because even if it has been heavily used, it is still in beautiful shape and (from what I can tell so far) plays like a dream!

Any history or insights about this bass would be very much appreciated, and thank you for providing this wonderful service!

accent: Maple laminate
body: Mahogany
neck: Maple with Walnut pinstripes, 34 long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid oval inlays
finish: Polyurethane, satin natural (very thin)
pickups: MXY
controls: volume, pan, filter, Q-switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost
birthday: October 21, 1997
originally made for: Washington Music, MD

Bill; I'm just guessing but I think it is the case that Washington Music purchased a lot of Alembics back in the late 90's, including a number of Rogue 5's, and that they may still have some of these basses in stock. So it may indeed be the case that your bass is NOS, new-old-stock.
