You'll have to be patient on this. The serial number indicates it's a 1996 Epic bass, and it has not been mentioned on the site before.

Hello, Fred,

please be sure that this Epic sixer really is in the hands of the seller. I do not say that there is anything fishy in this auction. However, I bid on this baby also and got FOUR second-chance offers since then. All seemed official, none was real in my opinion.

Before you are sending out money, you may want a photo of the bass with today's newspaper or something like that. All the best, take care.

Spoofers seem to be sending phony second chance bidders on all Alembic basses on eBay.  Official second chance offers only come through the eBay message part of your MyEbay page.  If it comes on your email, it is fake.

Yeah...I got some of those too. Sorta easy to spot the spoof...I WAS the winner of the auction and the fact that both say to contact the seller (different email addresses that the real seller)directly is also a pretty good tip off. I did get some new picts including several of the serial. Pretty sure the auction is legit.

I second that Christian, welcome Fred. And congrats on the bass.
When you get the bass how about some pix in the showcase section.

The original auction stated he accepted Paypal, when I payed using paypal, he said he didn't even have an account and wanted a MO or cashier's cheque.....but my paypal xfer went to an account and he was able to refund it. He has lousy feedback and I don't trust sending that kind of money any other way. I've been scammed before and won't let it happen again. I already have an Epic 5 and 3 Tobias Toby Pro 6's, so I'm not too disappointed. I HATE trying to deal with flakes.

Now that's bad, Fred... at least we know with whom NOT to deal anymore ;-) I have already posted a thread in the seen on eBay-section with a cross-reference to this thread.

all the best, Christian
