Alembic SoundCloud page reminder
« on: November 12, 2014, 02:18:31 PM »
Hey everyone, just wanted to remind you that there is a SoundCloud group where you can share your recordings that feature Alembic instruments and gear! Here is the link:

https://soundcloud.com/groups/alembic-players

I hadn't looked at the group in a while - realized that there was some great stuff posted there that I hadn't seen, plus I have posted a new track (AKA PHM) that features two instruments fitted with Alembic Activators.

This SoundCloud group is a great place to hear some real Alembics in action - check it out if you haven't already!

Great stuff jazzyvee! I went back and listened to some of the other stuff I haven't listened to - some great stuff there, I recommend everyone listen!

I also happen to have uploaded a new track, this one with my Stanley Clarke 5-string, which I am using more and more.

This is my current fave - Karl Clews doing Daft Punk's Get Lucky:

Side Note: Although I am actually a pretty big fan of Daft Punk, for some reason I didn't get Random Access Memories right away. I was pretty blown away when I finally did get into it - some amazing bass playing, with Nathan East playing on a lot of stuff - I have never heard anything that grabbed me in his playing but he is superb on this album. I think the tune Giorgio by Moroder is a masterpiece - like Chic meets Tangerine Dream with some really tasty improvisation thrown in for good measure.

Surprisingly, the entire tune is available on SoundCloud! Check it out and then go out and buy the album!
