Kevin,

When you get around to an Alembic guitar....You will not be disappointed!

Also, Travis Bean's Artist model has a carved top.

It's the closest I've ever played to an Alembic...However, an Alembic, it is not.

My Travis Bean remained my main electric guitar from 1978 until I opened the case on my Skylark for the first time.....

I still give my other guitars an occasional workout... Or should I say they give a workout to me?
ALL of them are very nice instruments....that being said, my eyes and ears have been opened thanks to the fine folks here and at Alembic... I don't foresee myself purchasing any electric guitars but Alembic from here on out.

Enjoy

I have a Skylark waiting for me in Santa Rosa - haven't played much guitar in the past 20 years, so this will give me an incentive to brush up. My only other guitar is a 67 SG which is currently being restored.

Very cool David,

I hope you enjoy it (I'm sure you will) as much as I do mine.

Does it have a burst finish?  The burst finishes are unbelievably beautiful.  Of course, so are all the finishes...What woods?  Details.  Details.......

I have a good friend with a '66 or '67 SG that his folks gave him new when we were just getting started playing in our first band.  His has a deep red finish, and a very sweet neck.  Yours is the same?

The Skylark is kind of like an old SG on steroids.

I keep looking at Alembic basses and it sure gets me to thinking about how nice they must be and maybe I should get one and......etc.

When are you taking delivery on your Skylark?

Man!  You're gonna love it!

Hollis - I think we've diverged sufficiently from the subject of this thread that its worth starting a new one.
