Rediscovered My Old Friend

Currently I own 8 basses.  Each one brings something to the table and they are all a joy to play.  However, my Alembic has been seeing less play time.  That all changed a couple of weeks ago.  At home, I sat down with my Alembic and played it for over an hour.  It was heaven.  I took it to my cover project's rehearsal on Wednesday and it sounded great.  I took it to my original band's rehearsal and it sounded so good that I decided it will be used for our upcoming gig on 12/6.  Then today, I was part of a jam with a drummer and guitarist who I met for the first time.  I brought my Alembic and it was the perfect bass for the session.  There is a reason why if I could one and only one bass, my Alembic would be it.  Thank you my old friend!

I keep a second bass just because it is a 6 string and I need the low B sometimes. Wish I could afford another Alembic, because it is everything a bass should be (maybe later I hope).

So we had our gig last night and it went fantastic.  Everybody in the band really brought it.


My Alembic was a joy to play.  I just had so much fun.
