It' hard to believe, 32 years
« on: July 01, 2008, 06:58:26 AM »
well it's anniversary time, and you know what that means, rub her neck with lemon oil, a new set of strings and some quality alone time, yes, it's hard for me to believe I got her (76 407) 32 years ago on 7-2-76 and she is still my pride and joy.
thanks Alembic, for building me a bass that can not be replaced.

Congrats David, 'dats a LOOOOng time.

October of 76 is when I bought my Jazz bass, (that I still have). Gotta admit though, yours is WAY cooler though.

I like the name of the cabs, HOMAID. I had one of those once, but my wife made me fire her.

LOL Good eyes, Ollie

David, Congrats again. Oil her up nice.
Long, slow strokes. Paint, don't daub! And Don't Smoke!

I always wanted to own a 70's Alembic, but in the UK they were not even heard of, Norman Watt Roy used one Ian Dury's video 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick' but they were out of my league at that time.
Nice looking bass and I hope you have another great 30 years with it.

Wow, awesome looking Series 1, in front of an awesome looking rig too.

That bass looks like my 77 S1's older sister (or brother as the case may be . . .)

Nice wood, too. What kind is that? Lightly shaded vermillion? Lacewood? Maple?

Indeed that is a sweet sweet bass.  Thanks for letting me play it at the Dallas get-together!
