From Tuesday, October 31 to Sunday, November 5 my email was down.  If you sent an email to me but did not get a response, I never received it.  It would appear (but I have not as yet confirmed this) that my ISP, bigmultinationalcommunicationscompany.net, ceased forwarding my davehouck.com email to me.  I have since remedied the situation by establishing a direct davehouck.com email account, avoiding the issue of forwarding my mail through my ISP; and I am now receiving email again.

One downside to the new account is that I'm getting a lot more spam than was previously the case; so if you send me something, be sure to put the word Alembic or some other clear identification in the message title.  Message titles of hi davehouck get deleted immediately.

And yes, this is the type of post that probably more properly belongs in the Misc. section.  However, as I get mail from members in my capacity as Moderator and as I assume that this section is generally the section that is more frequented by all members, I thought it best to put it here.

One other related note.  Without getting too political, for those of you living in the US, if you haven't done so already, you should probably educate yourselves on the issue of net neutrality.  This issue is being discussed and lobbied in Congress and the FCC; the outcome may significantly affect the ways in which you are able to use the internet.

Thanks and have a great day!

Sad Dave, but sounds like you fixed it.

Your post of url bigmultinationalcommunicationscompany.net reminded me of a real URL...www.verizonshouldspendlessmoneyonlawyersandmoreonitsnetwork.com  but apparently it's defunct.  However, I always find this one to be entertaining...
