Reckon I'm going to come back in on this one again.  Happy that the Signature part refers to the electronics, making the basses more affordable.  Happy that if you purchased a signature with a Series II body shape that it can be referred to as a Mark King Signature, as this is the type and shape of body/neck he used; likewise for the small scale/bodied Stanley Clark Signature.  Can't see why the Balance K model is referred to as a Mark King Signature.  Why not just call it a Signature model and be done with it?

I've always considered Signature models more of a collectors item or show piece.....none seem to be an exact duplicate of the actual instrument the artist plays.

Agreed- are we collectors or players?  I see this same problem in cars and motorcycles.  The issue I see is MONEY! Do we want to inflate the value of our exceptional Basses to the point where we dare not play them for fear of losing our investment? If you want to be a COLLECTOR- fine.  BUT- the issue of Signature Models should be setteled by Alembic. Period, end of conversation. Michael
