Alembic Orion Bass

Hi I'm thinking of buying a mint condition Orion bass with walnut facings.I haven't had a chance to try the instrument yet and was wondering how they compare soudwise etc to my Stanley bass.I really love the sound and feel of my Alembic but and totally paranoid of damaging it at gigs etc.

Hi Kevin, I own a 1999 walnut Orion and all I can say is that it's a great instrument altogether. To me the keyword is 'natural', the midrange and lows are very impressive because of the mahogany body, walnut top and the set neck construction. Controls are very different from Signature electronics and I can say from experience that an Orion and a Signature are a perfect pair of Alembics to have in your bass arsenal, because together they offer you the entire sonic spectrum of the 'Alembic experience'.

What can I say, I'm a fan...

Hi there many thanks for the information.I was looking at your beautiful bass on Saturday - that's what gave me the idea of getting one.I love the curves.I then managed to locate the one that I'm interested in, at the shop where I bought my Stanley bass.I'm in London on Monday to see Marcus Millar doing a bass clinic so I'm going to stop off in Camden and try it.The shop have said that they'll keep it for me.Once again many thanks.Kevin
