I bet one of those things is a mean dog to refret... what do you do, epoxy them in I guess?
well from the pictures the frets look like they still got plenty of meat left on them but i'd ask for closeups just to be sure. i once bought a stienie on ebay that showed up at the house with the fret wires worn
below the level of the fingerboard. it got nasty after that, the seller wouldn't take it back because she claimed by my taking the strings off to take pictures of the frets i had "altered" the instrument. i was living in seattle at the time so i took it over to mike lull. he informed me that graphite necks are "special" and it was gonna be spendy. back in 2003 it was $700 to refret it and level the fingerboard, probably twice what it would have cost to refret a wood neck at the time. it was a tuff call. i already had $1200 into the bass. i could tell it had been rode hard and hung up wet. the gig bag it showed up in smelled so strongly of whiskey and vomit, the wife made me keep it in the garage.
that guy was a miracle worker, after the repair that stienie was a tone
monster and i never had any problems with it thereafter. somedays i miss that bass :-(
