R.I.P. Kris
« on: September 29, 2024, 06:32:49 PM »
Kris Krisofferson has passed at 88.   A wonderful songwriter, singer, and a decent actor.   Here’s some of my favorite versions of his tunes.

One of my heroes since I saw Cisco Pike at the Maple Drive-In in Zanesville, summer of '71.
Not in the first tier of American songwriters (because the first tier is just Robert Hunter & Townes Van Zandt), but most definitely high up in the second tier.  An American Treasure, for sure.

We will never see his like again, and now his watch has ended.

Peter (who regularly performed "Black & Blue", "The Silver Tongued Devil And I" and "Billy Dee" at coffee houses in college)
"Is not Hypnocracy no other than the aspiration to discover the meaning of Hypnocracy?  Have you heard the one about the yellow dog yet?"
St. Dilbert

"If I could explain it in prose, i wouldn't have had to write the song."
Robt. Hunter

Kris did things in his life that were rather Fred Rogers-ish.   I admire that.   Warm wishes to his family and friends.
