Took the Epic for a ride.
« on: April 08, 2024, 04:44:09 PM »
I had an opportunity to play behind Nashville songwriter, Joe Doyle, at his induction to the Rhode Island Music Hall Of Fame yesterday.  He was actually inducted in 2020, but, missed his performance show due to Covid. It finally was able to happen for Joe yesterday. He asked 3 of his hometown friends if we would back him up for 3 of his songs and of course we said yes. It was a blast to be a part of the show, thank you Joe for including me.

I have had a '93 Epic for a number of years that I bought on consignment at a music store in western MA. It seemed to have some sound issues that I finally got around to sending the electronics home to the Mothership. Sure enough they found and repaired a couple of issues cause by some "mods" by the previous owner.
Well it sounded great yesterday.  Lots of compliments on the sound.
Thank you Mica and crew for restoring the voice to my Epic.

Nice gig report. I'd love to have a first-run Epic.

Sounds like a fun gig. Your Alembicmust sound really good through the Acme cab. I heard a friend playing through them at a gig, they had a great, tight, low-end, clean sound with good projection.

The gig was a blast, if short for us.  Joe does a solo piano/guitar thing where he talks about
various songs and their inspiration.
Stephen, the Acme cabs are like our Alembics, you can't hide bad technique.  And I know, mine is
pretty bad, Lol. I also have 2 1x12 Acme cabs, but, most of the folks that I play with prefer the 2x10 for its
articulation.  I admit, I do, also.  I go back and forth between a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 or a Genz Benz
Streamliner 600 for amplification.  Now to dig into this new Alembic voice.
Thank you again, Mica.
