I'm proud
« on: December 24, 2023, 01:41:55 PM »

I spent far too much of my college years shooting pool in the back room of Poffenberger's Tavern, got to be OK at it.My middle son learned to play at 15 in a bar in WI where the staff of the Boy Scout camp he worked at hung out; the lad thought he was hot stuff.  I showed him otherwise; we never had a table, so we've only only played about 15 times in the intervening 26 years, but he has yet to win.
We're visiting them in their new home, where he does have a table.  I was shooting a rack, trying to get my stroke back, when his 11 year old son asked if I wanted to play.  He beat his Granddude by one ball.

Just too cool.

Life’s little victories are the best.

We had a great visit with our grandkids as well.   Our future has hope.

My little sister flunked outta' Virginia Tech shootin' pool. She got good enough at it to actually make money. Eventually she buckled down and studied the books enough to get a diploma for something. She still has some game though. I was playing in a sports bar a few years ago, and watched her clean house on a buncha' boys in a tournament.
