Yes Bill, Rob knows. Everyone knows. As I Posted in another thread...

Here we go again...

Yes, I have been selling guitars and pro audio gear professionally for over 15 years now.

This is like complaining that the sky is blue. Yes, I sell gear and I will continue to sell gear.
If I see a good deal on something I like, I buy it. Most of the time, I am able to turn a profit, sometimes I just get to enjoy a pice of gear for a short time and lose a little or break even.
It is a joy to be able to make a living doing something I love.
You all can speculate all you want and make fun of me, call me a flipper, or whatever your preferred term is as that is apparently allowed here on this site but at the end of the day, it doesn't change anything. I sell high end guitars and gear and I will continue to do so.
Not sure how it helps to continually gripe about something like this.

I buy, sell and trade gear. Thousands of people do it. No big deal. Ebay and Reverb are full of people that do the exact same thing.
Every store you walk into is doing essentially the same thing.

Though you may disagree with the fact hat I buy and sell gear, I am also a human being with feelings like the rest of you. If you wish to insult me please do it in private.

Live and let live.

Hi Jonny:

I don’t know why you have inferred a negative intention in my post.   Are you not from Colorado?  Are you not “flipping” the guitar inasmuch as you purchased it and then immediately put it up for sale?   Isn’t that the definition of flipping?   Did you not list it for a little more than $2000 in excess of what you paid?  I did nothing more than note the current facts surrounding the guitar.  I did not complain, disparage you, or insult you in any manner whatsoever.   If you feel insulted, disparaged, or are experiencing anything negative from my post, the issue is more likely with your perceptions or sensitivity, not with anything I’ve posted.   IMHO your post is inappropriate and quite unusual for this forum.   And FWIW, I too have a Reverb shop and have purchased and resold many guitars.   Usually after having done some repairs or restoration, but sometimes just to check out a particular guitar, then send it on its way.  If I purchased it for a good price, I often wind up making a profit on the sale.  In those situations, I too am flipping.

The members here are interested in helping get instruments into the hands of players. People in the club track prices, if they see something get marked up for re-sale it is educational to make other members aware that the instrument has been marked up to be flipped and alert them not to offer the full newly listed price. I don't see that as an attack on anybody. You buy and sell to make a living, others here are interested in buying an instrument to play it and possibly send it on if it isn't what they wanted. Members here facilitating those transactions is what this section of the club forum is intended for. You buy and re-sell a lot of expensive instruments it is hard for people not to notice and comment, you have high visibility in the used instrument market hence the running references to the "Colorado flipper". If someone else was equally known in the re-seller community they would get comments, too. If you feel good about what you do for a living there is no reason to come here and complain, it doesn't change the dynamic of trying to help other members find a nice instrument for a fair price.

Since this one is sold and there's a lot of mentioning 'bout flipping, Flip (me) also has a very nice instrument for sale that's def. flippable ;-)
