Parts for Alembic Further
« on: March 23, 2023, 04:30:10 AM »
Hi All,

I have an Alembic Further made in 2007. I have been having a problem with signal breakup on the higher notes while using the middle pick-up. I spoke with Mica last January about repairs, but never did send the guitar back (It is my primary guitar). I have since done a little diagnostic work on it. I switched the position of the filter pots on the neck and middle pickups and the problem followed. Additionally, some of the switches do not work as well as they used to. Mica said the newer ones are better.

If I had the parts I could make these repairs myself. I am hoping to minimize down time. Would it be possible to order the parts from Alembic and make the repairs myself? Maybe even have some spares? I would hate to be parted from this guitar for very long.  ;)

Thanks!

Jeff

Replacement parts are always available. With the Further it's a bit complicated as there have been many updates to the circuits involved.

The switches now are on a circuit board with a zero sum amplifier so there isn't a volume change with a pickup selection change. But to have this update, you would really need to send the guitar in because there are small internal modifications needed to get all the new stuff to fit.

But if you just need the switch components themselves, just call or email me and we can get you what you need.

Thanks Mica!. I might try to get through the busy summer season and then get the guitar to you.
