According to Spotify the artist I listened the most to last year on their app… Lara Rosseel.

Big thank you to Edwin for dropping her off in the What Are You Listening To Now thread.

I don't think YouTube sends me a message to tell me what I watched/listened to the most this year, (and I probably don't want to know who they do give that info to...) but for sure I have gravitated back to more bluegrass-y things this Summer. Specifically, I have followed closely the Dan Tyminski Band and their progress. Sierra Hull, and the various ensembles she is involved in, but especially her own branded band. I'm liking the Appalachian Roadshow too.

Only recently I have circled back to Fleetwood Mac, with John's birthday and the sad passing of Christine McVie.

I was telling someone the other day - I'm kind of a binge-listener. It's probably why I still buy CD's and don't have streaming services.

Me too, Greg.  For a number of months now, I have been concentrating on Achilles Wheel & Jason Isbell; not exclusively (as my posts in "What Are You Listening To Now" will show), but pretty close.  And that means YT or physical media; Pandora's Al Gore Rhythm just baffles me - "What the &%@^ is that song doing on a Grateful Dead channel? ??? "

The eldest 2 grandkids got us an Echo last year for Winter Solstice (allegedly so they could video chat with us and not tie up Dad's phone, but I suspect its because I gave their dad so much grief about having a live mic to Jeff Bezos in his house, and he knew I'd have to take it from the little guys....).  For a while Alexa was doing OK:  "Alexa, play Jason Isbell"  "Playing music by Jason Isbell".

But she changed a couple months ago, and now it's "Alexa, play by Jason Isbell"  "Shuffling music by Isbell and similar artists; to listen to music by one artist, send me $5 every month".  Though I will admit, she does get "similar artists" a lot better than Pandora.

Peter (who bought a fine stereo in 1977 - and went with an integrated amp instead of a tuner because 1) better sound for the $, and 2) why have a radio when they don't play anything I want to hear, and I have a few peach crates of vinyl?)
