That bass is mine. I purchased it from a club member selling it for a friend. It had some difficulties so went from him directly to Alembic who from what I remembered replaced the hum canceler and did the RF upgrade. Mica was a bit apologetic that Ron couldn’t get it completely quite but to my ears there is no RF or any other interference coming through when I play it. Interesting build in that it has a purple heart neck with no stringers and some crazy beautiful ebony lams on the body. Heavy though. In addition to the body, In an attempt to correct neck drive, the builder put lead in the battery cavity. When Alembic looked it over they weren’t sure how it was done so suggested I leave it as is. No neck dive though.

Extremely busy at this point since the cross country ski team I coach just qualified 11 skiers for our state championship next week but after that I’ll get some shots and put them up.

Wow, many thanks Mr. Brian😊

All the best to your Ski team, I will be rooting for them 👍💯

When you have the time, please,if you could,  take full length photos of the front, back and sides , and perhaps one of the bass resting in it's case!!

I really want to thank you in advance for your kindness 😊🙏

ya don't suppose they poured it in, do ya?  my heaviest bass was my first series II which clocked in at ~14  authentic U.S.A. pounds. whatta back-breaker.  used an xtra-wide padded strap. i hadda wear a back brace on stage and araange our sets so i didn't hafta wear it more than 30 minutes at a time. i was considering having a strap pin put on the bottom so i could use one of those hip-belt thingies.  and i was still a strapping middle-ager at the time. obtw it was a long-scale 5-string with alembic tuners on a crown headstock so it had a neck dive that would probably take out a dwarf should one be fooolish enuf to be anywhere close to my left side while i scratched my rightside body parts.

is it heavier than that?

I know a bit about this bass. It was originally a 6 string, built by Jonathan Day who was in the setup department at the Mothership for a long time. Michael Dolan (another Alembic alumni) cut it down to a 4 string at the request of the previous owner. I think he also did the lead in the battery cavity to lessen the neck dive. I've got some pics, will post them if it's OK with the current owner. This one's also got a mellow filter.
