Ronnie “The Hawk” Hawkins has passed at 87. He put together some Canadian musicians and a drummer from Arkansas as his backing band, “The Hawks”. They later left Ronnie and became “The Band”.

I caught a bit of an old interview with Kris Kristofferson on YouTube the other night where he said Ronnie was about the only performer he knew ho was really comfortable in front of an audience. A giant.
