He was a charter member of the early 60’s folk scene, Dylan’s running buddy, taught Janis “Me & Bobby McGee”, co-wrote “Mercedes Benz” with her, and was along for the ride on the iconic Rolling Thunder Review.

Took me a second; I've always heard him referred to as "Bobby"; yet another a major loss.
