Wow have you ever heard of one using Purple Heart? I assumed rosewood, definitely not ebony.
That would be amazing if it’s Purple Heart! Also, I know it ought to be mother of pearl inlays, but
they seem to reflect light with a lot of pink and green, has crossed my mind whether they might be abalone (you can’t really see the effect in these pics)?

You might post a serial number lookup thread on this one. Information can be scant on these early instruments, but Mica found the card on my bass; (just 10 away from yours) it has a rosewood fingerboard and MOP ovals. I wouldn't be afraid to bet on purpleheart on that one either. I'm more curious about the top and back.

I would be curious about the body wood as well, birch maybe, or maple, or…

Very nice guitar :)

Bump, how are you getting on with this guitar? Any gigs or recordings done with it?

Hello. No recordings or gigs with it yet. Will likely use only in studio. That said I too think the answer to your query in your other series thread is a two channel amp. I love the guitar. It sounds and plays great. Can do both warm and bright equally well. Unlike most electrics in my experience, it sounds really excellent clean. As I’ve said I’m eager to know the specs on the guitar. Buying it from Italy with few photos and little information, I feel extremely lucky it is so nice. I did have it set up, but it barely needed anything done. There’s a few around from this era but unfortunately the sellers have set their sights on very very high prices. I recently picked up a 70s Polytone 103, and despite it being solid state with this guitar (and basses) it sounds killer. Even the fuzz pull knob sounds really cool, go figure.

Great to hear that getting the guitar is working out well. I hope to get mine into my comfort zone.
