Black marks on my Myrtle Core

Hello,
I just recently purchased a Brown Bass, I have not even had it for 6 months yet and it is always in its case when not being played, but I noticed today that there are black marks more like small, thin, smears of black on the Myrtle core,(like the wood bled) one on the upper horn and then there is one on the bottom. It is not going onto the walnut at all which is leading me to believe that maybe this is a trait of this wood?? Any info is very much appreciated

I saw another Brown bass like yours in final set-up stage at Alembic  about a month ago and the myrtle core had those same type of marks you described; I believe I  remember Mica commenting how that was a characteristic of myrtle, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I was a bit concerned, it seemed like it happened overnight! but as long as the bass continues to play like it is I really do not mind. It evens adds a little bit more character to it. But of course this will be something I now look for. ? Tom
