(x) Serial Number? [95K8825]
« on: November 07, 2021, 07:25:59 AM »
Just received a used 5 string Essence (in great shape...).  Would like to learn more of its' history.  Where can I find the serial number on this please?  Thanks, Mike

Welcome to the Club!

The serial number might be embossed on the truss rod cover, and/or stamped into the wood under the back plate.

Hi Mike, welcome to the club and congrats on your new-to-you Alembic!   If it’s an older one, the serial number will be across the top of the headstock, looking down from above the instrument.

Bill, the guitar one

I don't know if the Essence model is old enough but there was a period that the number could be stamped on the end of the fretboard. If the bass has seen a lot of use these were known to get worn down and hard to read so you might need to get an impression to read it.

Thanks all.  Will try to post pictures soon.  I have had several of what I call "top shelf" basses in the past (Devon, Pedulla, Rick Turner) and all were excellent (still own two of the three).  This 5 string Essence takes a back seat to nothing...   Wow!

Serial number was at the end of the fretboard - in plain sight, so of course I didn't see it at first...  How can I get the history with it?  BTW: practiced with my group last night and loved the sound!
