Alembic V String

Well, Im getting closer to owning my Alembic as 2020 has caused a full life style change of outlook. I have a picture that I've been holding onto for years that i don't know any details about.... If anyone can enlighten me on the model along with some pricing that would be awesome!!!

Hi RR... welcome to the club!

Alembic hasn't made the Elan model for quite some time so it isn't on the current price list, you would be looking at a custom order. Looks like you have a picture of a reproduction that was based on Jason Newsted's Alembic basses. If you didn't find the picture in the following TalkBass thread you should read it for more info about this particular bass. There are a couple of members here who know way more about Jason and his basses than I do so expect more detailed info to come.

As Stephen indicated, that's a very custom build, and a quite nice one at that!

And yes, 2020 brought a lot of changes for a lot of people; and I imagine that for some, those changes will be reflected in expressions of musical creativity.

Yep i would agree with elan too with custom options. FC Spoiler is the resident elan expert especially when it comes to the jason newstead connection.
For prices i would start with the base price of an europa and then cost the options.

you could try putting your ideas on the 'Dreaming for now' thread and get some practical advice from members on your ideas. That is a great choice of first alembic

It seems to me, that very bass, or one very much like it, was recently for sale. Hang on... lemee see. It's here somewhere...
