That penny dropping about new vs vintage alembic was what eventually pushed me into getting a vintage series shorty. For years i had been saving for a custom or a recent series shorty. I got close a couple of times but other things took my bass budget. Then i found my budget would stretch to a vintage bass if i looked carefully which is what found. There is nothing i can tell from it's sound that belies it's age.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!
