Mark King Signature Standard - mono to stereo output?
« on: February 15, 2003, 08:06:15 AM »
Hi,

I have just bought a wonderful Mark King Signature Standard and I am VERY happy!

However, I wonder if it is possible to make the mono output to a stereo output like this:

1)Insert a stereo jack and split pick-ups in two - bridge right and Neck left.

2) Insert a mono jack and get both pick-ups (normal output)

Is this possible?

regards

Thomas

It's nearly impossible to make an auto sensing jack. You can add a mono/stereo switch to have the same jack perform mono and stereo functions. You could also have 2 separate jacks if you preferred.

Thanks Mica. I think it would be nicest to have a mono/stereo switch and same jack.

In getting the documentation together for your request (I'm still catching up), I realized that you would either need to:

1. convert to 2 volumes and lose the pan control -or-

2. change the pan and volume you have to stereo pan and volume controls.

Either way, you'll also need a new output jack. The parts bill can get steep quickly. The stereo parts are among the pricier ones we have.

Let me know which way you want the instructions and I'll also include parts list and pricing.
