Good golly, Miss Molly! That's an epic collection of Epics you got there Ernie. It's a shame you had to sacrifice the six, but that wacked Orion you're having built will more than make up for it! You'll have to post to the group and let us know how it sounds - awesome, no doubt!

I see my next bass...an Epic 5-string fretless (to keep my Epic 5-string fretted company)!  I'll be lovin' life that much more!

How would you describe the difference between the Maple and Vermillion in the Epics?  They all have Mahagony cores?

Very nice collection.

I have a Mahogany w/ Walnut top; am wondering about different other tops and how they affect the sound.

Wow , , it has been 10 Years !!! OMG   , ,
My life has taken Many Turns in that amount of time . .
I'd like to apologize to (jack) and (57basstra)
for not getting back to these questions ..

Mostly ,  ALL these sound very similar,,
Well that being said  , the vermillion 6-string   seemed to have a tighter more defined tone ,,,
I'm not sure if it was mostly the vermillion top or the massive SOLID neck that didn't give an inch .
I think the solid neck made the strings act a little different and easier to play ,,
I cant really say why except the tension seemed less per string
,, Very nice bass!!! one of the best I ever had ,, I hated to get rid of it but ,, (always a big but!) it was a little wide for me 6 is too many ,hehe,, and i wanted to make the new Orion 5-string my main player.

Now that's SWEET. A three-pickup Epic, with red LED's and birdseye maple on top of that. Salute.  8)
