Dickran Gobalian, AKA Leon Redbone, passed away today at age 69. No cause of death has been announced, but he had been in hospice care.

I’m very sorry to hear that. I loved his work when I was a kid (and still do now). He was playful without being kitschy. He always sounded like he was having fun.

I did sound for him several times in the 80s.  He was an odd duck, and a killer guitar player.

I remember seeing him on SNL back in the day in his White Suit and looking like a real cool cat.  He was a last vestige of an older music style. 


Very sad to hear this news.  Thanks for letting us know.
