Hmmm......
« on: December 09, 2017, 11:53:28 AM »
Today it crossed my mind that it's a crime there's no album by Joe South backed by Roger North on drums, Nathan East on bass, and Leslie West on guitar...........

Super. No Upside down band too - Albert King on guitar, Jimmy Haslip on bass. Need an upside down drummer, though.

My drummer friend Ray, had a buddy named "Five" .
Along with Brad and Barry...

...they were "The Ray Bradbarry Five" (note there are only four of 'em  ::) )

Didn't Palmer or Peart once have a kit that went upside down while he was playing?

Peart did it, but I think Mötley Crüe may have started that madness.

Roger North? His son is a great bass player and good friend.

Peart never went upside down, but did do a 180 to reveal an electronic kit. Emerson had a grand piano that went upside down, as did Tommy Lee's drum kit. I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it!

Well, I looked it up; and the reason that group of folks never did an album is because Joe South's "name" wasn't really South.  His real name was Joseph Souter.

Interestingly, Joe South wrote, among many other things, the song that Deep Purple covered for their first hit, Hush.
