For the sake of debate over the current market on these Series basses from that time-frame;

Considering it has had the maintenance and upgrades already done, plus a new hardshell case... doesn't $4500 seem on the low side of pretty fair?

I agree. At that price it should be on somebody's radar. But lately, it seems slow for sales of high dollar gear. On the equipment I am selling, I have a steady stream of low ball offers, but no takers.

I'd say it would be a low side fair price for an upgraded bass. I don't remember the cost of the upgrade but recall they ran from something under $1K to around $2.5K. The actual cost is based on the vintage of the electronics.

I'd say definitely a fair price if the body and neck are in good shape. I purchased my similar vintage Standard Point Series I for $3,600 last year and it will soon being going for an electronic upgrade ($750-$1,400 depending on difficulty). Add a redress, extra volume control etc. and the cost is well over $4,500.

Hi Guys,

I just rejoined the club after a bit and was drawn back by a friend sending me posts.

Would have done it sooner, but my email has changed since then. :-)

This is actually my bass.

The numbers quoted below are accurate for the work that I had done.

It's a great bass that I wouldn't be selling unless necessary.

Certainly my desert island bass, but I can't afford to keep it right now.

Also, I am selling a Bergantino stack and Walter Woods Ultra blue light amp as well, so feel free to ask questions or stop by Burbank, CA to give them a play as they sound great with this Alembic.

I did try to price it fairly and have gone through 2 rounds of buyers that failed to follow through completely.

Please drop me a line if interested!

:-)

Happy 4th!

PS I have it listed for $4750 plus shipping, but I'm willing to do $4500 plus shipping for a club member as I had posted it at one point.
