(x) 93K7908 - Blue Essence Bass

Hi - I just picked up an Essence bass with the serial number 93K7908.  From looking around the web, I see that the "93" means 1993, but any additional information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.  I had never seen a blue Alembic and I just had to have it...glad I did, because it is definitely a dream bass.  Plus it looks like it was kept in a case for the past 20+ years....which is making me wonder if the blue color is original, or if it may have been refinished somewhere along the way.  Any information that you can share would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks...Chris

The blue is original. Here's what I found in the file:

controls: Essence (volume, pan, filter, mono output)

originally made for: Steve's Quality Instrument, MA
birthday: September 22, 1993

I love the blue finishes we do. That one is done where we seal the wood with clear first, then paint with the tinted paint, then more clear. It makes the figuring totally 3D and it's reversible if you want to go natural later.
