Hi all

Firstly thanks for the heads up Serial, good of you to add a link to the SC meetup groups.

Let me introduce myself, My name is Sharmin and I am the Co-Ordinator of the Stanley Clarke meetup groups around the world.
Its an exciting offshoot of the SC website and for anyone that loves the music if SC and also for people passionate about playing bass.
We meet once a month and there are 68 groups running around the world.
Its all in conjunction with the Stanley Clarke website and we have had alot fun meeting up in peoples homes, restaurants, bars etc.
The point of the groups is to bring like minded people together on a socail level and to discuss and listen to eachother and appreiciate eachothers views and opinions aswell as having fun and making new friends along the way.

If your a Stanley Clarke fan or just someone that wants to join in and meet other like minded people, please do come along and join in.
Your not committed to go to every meetup but we do ask that you give it a chance.

Many of the members here are Stanley Clarke fans. Several went to the shows Stanley did with McCoy Tyner recently. I saw Stanley play once with Return To Forever back in the seventies. And I saw him with his group back around '98. I also have, among many CDs, the A Very Special Concert DVD with Chick Corea.

Though not exactly a meet-up group, I just picked up tix for Stanley's show in Las Vegas next Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it. It seems an odd venue for Stanley (Santa Fe Station Casino - far off the strip, Northwest of town) but only a couple of miles from my house means there will be no battling of the strip traffic.

Too bad it won't be the same lineup that played at Yoshi's, I would have loved to see McCoy Tyner too, but I'm no less excited to see Stanley and his band.

Recently, Darrell-dcarbu of the club saw SC in California and got him to pose for some pictures. If you get pics in Las Vegas next weekend we'd love to see them.

just read on bela Fleck's website that he's formed a trio with stanley clarke and jean luc ponty. that should be something to see. he also says they;re intending to come to europe - just hope that includes scotland

For anyone interested, Stanley will be a special guest at the National Guitar Workshop's Bass Summit in Connecticut, July 25-29.

Stanley Burns Down Vegas
Awesome sold-out show Saturday at the Santa Fe Station Showroom in northwest Las Vegas. Stanley burned on Alembic and upright with his amazing new band. The only down-side of the performance is that it didn't last all night. =D

Hope he returns on his tour with Bela Fleck and JLP.
