Hi All,
Is anyone out there using either of these products?  If so, what has your experience been?
Thanks for the input.

A friend of mine owns a recording studio and he likes to use the PSA-1. I have used it on a few projects there and though it warms the tone of lower quality instruments I found I prefer to use the balanced line out of my amp along with a mic (an SM57 say) in front of one of the 15 speakers and with another mic in front of a 10 speaker. My Exploiter seems to sound just as good, if not better, plugged directly into the board as it does with the Sansamp. Other people I know swear by them. Just my humble opinion.

What was your proposed application?

Well, I guess I'm looking for a good 1 rack space pre-amp. Perhaps one that will emmulate my Trace Elliot (power amp/pre-amp) Warmth, I don't need. Between my Alembic and the Acme cabinet, I've got plenty of that. I'm looking for a little more high end growl in a smaller box.  I do use the
F-1X, which is great for beginners but the TE gives me an enormous amount of color, when needed.

all the experiences i've had with the tech 21 stuff, mostly with their combo amps, have been fairly bad.  it sounds too processed for me. just my two cents.

Thanks for the input Jake.  I've got a few processors and most put out a sound that sounds, well, processed.  Tone is one thing, forced tone is quite another.

well i personally am a tone purist, who would prefer going straight out into a tube amp, but even as far as processors go, there are for sure better choices than the tech 21 at least in my opinion.  lexicon makes some good ones that you should check out

Hi,

I've been using Tech21 Bass Driver DI. I only use it for overdrive, since the box sucks the attack from my tone and it's not good since I prefer to use bridge pickup mainly. So if you are looking for a pure preamp don't be too optimistic. That Bass Driver DI is a stomp box version of RBI.
