Cyber Bullying

please
if you are a parent- speak to your kids about this.
no one should be a victim....no one should be the instigator.
the recent sad deaths of young people due to this is so so so sad and such waste of precious life.

it made me think back to my youth and how i was both victim and perpetrator. i feel so guilty for the things we did that we thought were funny never taking into account the damage that was done. i know how much it hurt me.

we are all different- but we are all human beings.
everyone has feelings
i just cant figure out where the disconnect is.

The parents of the victim are just as at fault as the parents of the instigator(s).  If you are paying any amount of attention to the daily life of your child you would have a good idea that something is wrong and you'd do something about it.

It's not always the case Brian. My parents were the best but had no idea I was being bullied as a kid because I was good at hiding it.I think it's even harder for parents today with the onset of cyber and text bullying, both are far more insidious than the wait til I see you after school type of intimidation.Ultimately though, any kind of bullying is unacceptable. Thanks for the post Jeff.

Briant, this is certainly no attack on you but I have to agree with bassfingers about the parents.  I have a 16 year old and one who is soon to be 13.  Teenagers can be so moody and so happy in the same hour.  It is difficult to tell if something is wrong or if the hormones are running rampant.
Bullying is something that concerns me greatly. We have experienced it in our family.  It is heartbreaking.
There was a 15 year old bullying victim who committed suicide at my son's high school just a couple of months ago.  Technology has made bullying easier, more anonymous, and more vicious.  My heart really goes out to kids today.  All we can do is love them, let them know we love them, and try to keep open the lines of communication.
