BILL, thanks for the welcome. actually i have no problem with the pickups except for a squirrelly screw in the bridge pickup that won't quite sit tight in its hole causing the pickup to move up. otherwise, it's more of a cosmetic issue. the alembic name has nearly faded away and they've been worn down where the strings make inadvertent contact with them.
DAVE, my only reservation with having an alembic bridge installed would be how they would install it over or around the large, gaping divot on the upper surface where the old tremolo was installed.
i would LOVE to have a full refurbish done on it, but i'm a little fearful of the cost. although, i know in the end, it would be totally worth it. i'll try getting in touch with Mica.
so negatives all around to installing all black hardware??
