Not really an Alembic related post, but this is the Miscellaneous section.
I have been a Pink Floyd fan for so long that I was waiting for Dark Side to come out in 1973. Floyd never played in the Twin Cities until 1988, and I was away at grad school and missed them. Finally saw them in '95 at the Metrodome and it was brilliant. But Roger wasn't there, of course.
Last night I saw Roger's tour commemmorating the 30th anniversary of The Wall. Words fail me.
This was hands down the greatest show - not just rock concert, but SHOW of any kind I have ever seen in my life.
Roger has clearly mellowed in the last couple of decades. He was enthusiastic and in good voice, clearly happy to be performing and enjoying himself, the band was stone cold killer and the visuals, lighting and totality of the overall presentation would set Spielberg of Lucas back on their heels and was done totally in real time. I sat there stunned and virtually silent for two hours.
Thanks, Roger. I waited thirty years for this, and it was in every sense worth the wait.
