Bass guitar strings
« on: September 17, 2013, 09:38:04 AM »
Coming up for a string change on Orion 4.  For more years than I care to remember I have used Elites Stainless 40 - 100 happily.  Just testing the water and other opinions as out of touch with what is about.  Requirements are 40 - 100 (fingers getting older and one weaker after a finger break years ago)and not nickel (skin alergy).  Playing fingerstyle, boogie, jazz, country, pop not slap and hardly any soloing stuff. Genz Streamliner 900 and Berg cabs.  All thoughts welcome.  Glynn

Hello Glynn,

I have been using Dean Markley 2670  XL 40-95 Blue Steel  strings for my round wounds for quite a long time. I enjoy the fact that they age very gracefully from an aspect of intonation.  I like them better then some others that I have tried. They also work fine with the Alembic medium scale  bass's .  I play finger style as well in an eclectic variety of styles.
