Sadly yet another has drifted to the great beyond.
I loved playing bass to the songs written by this Indiana native.

Here he is with Stevie Ray Vaughan, who cited him as a major influence. One thing that the passing of all these musicians has done is to cause us to revisit them and their music, listening to things we haven't heard in a while, perhaps with new ears and a deeper appreciation.

Man.Every musician on that Carnegie Hall stage looked as though they were having the time of their lives.
And why not?It is Carnegie Hall after all.Wow.And just look at Roy Buchanan.One of the most powerful slide players I ever heard.

Wow! The drummer in the Carnegie Hall vid is Jimmy Heidenreich; I spent the first 3 months of 1980 on the road with him, doing the midwest hotel-lounge circuit with Holidaze, Featuring Doc & Linda Holiday (yes, it was as bad a gig as it sounds like). I had forgotten he went on to play with Lonnie. Great clip of a bunch of superb players.
