Gitarre und Bass showcases "AJ2"
« on: October 31, 2008, 06:25:54 AM »
The November 08 issue of the German Gitarre und Bass magazine has a showcase on that wonderful Japanese-built bolt-on headless violin-shaped Alembic of the early 1980s.

Features that were new to me: it has a single ebony laminate in the neck, the bridge saddles and part of the bridge/anchor are made from wood, and the fretboard clears the E string above the 20th fret - for a better slap sound.

Apparently the string locking at the far end of the neck is a bit tricky.

Very strange...I've never seen any details about those. If you have the magazine could you scan the page? ...a rarity for sure.
