Looking for a Series II five-string (fretless)
« on: August 30, 2008, 09:59:45 AM »
Hey folks.  I've been on the lookout for a 5-string fretless Series II for awhile now.  If anyone has any leads, please let me know.  I'd like it to be standard 34 scale and with narrow string spacing.  I'll even go as far as to purchase a fretted version, and have it defretted.  Thanks!

I know where there is a nice Series II FRETTED 5 string that can be had for about $7,500.  If that falls in line with what you're thinking, let me know and I'll put you in touch.

Peace,

Hey James,

Yeah, that does interest me.  The price is higher than I had expected, but I'd love to be in touch with the owner.  What do you know about the bass (wood, condition, etc.)?

Thanks a lot, man.  I've spied your bass several times on this site, drooling at the sight of your Series II 5 cocobolo beauty...  You're one lucky guy!

If James is talking about the bass I'm thinking of, the wood is Ziricote, the body is a unique 3/4 size heart omega style, and there is some very nice flame maple in the neck.

Eric,

Here's a picture of the bass.  Note the price tag.  I know it's negotiable.

My apologies on the poor photo quality.  Camera phone + sucky photographer = lame picture

Peace,
