Elan four string on Ebay
« on: March 08, 2004, 03:02:04 PM »
I'm looking for any info on the Elan that just popped up on Ebay. It looks beautiful, but I've never owned an Alembic and can't find very much info on them. I'm wondering what the value of a mint condition Elan is. Doe it compare to the Europa? Tha body shape looks the same. Thanks!

If I had it I would offer at least $1000.00 for it. It looks like a good one. It is worth what you are willing to pay. I bought my first Alembic off of eBay without ever seeing or playing one (except for the pictures) and I have been hooked ever since. Go for it, if you have the cash and the desire. I know it won't let you down.

I am sure that some of the more qualified members can fill you in with more detail on the value of this bass and the differences between the Elan and Europa. I just get so excited when I see someone who hasn't owned one contemplating the purchase of their first Alembic. I have never had an experience that equals owning an Alembic, or two for that matter. The bassses themselves are very inspiring and the people behind them are better than any you will find in any industry. You become a part of the family when you buy an Alembic. Good Luck! If this one isn't what you are after then keep looking. Alembic is the way to go. Someday............    My custom order.

Again,
Thank you guys for your help. It was frustrating to see all kinds of Alembic basses and not find any info on the Elan. Thanks once again for the advice/help. I HAVE to consider this one!
