My 32 spoilers are 6's and they are all great with the low b. My 31 scale Essence 5 is also good buy you can't wail on it with a pick near the neck pup. I use all long scale strings and I'm sure if they are actually medium or short scale you might get better performance from them. Now if you are a 35-36 scale player if will not be comparable. I say, go for it. The ability to change and adapt to spacings, lengths, number of strings is very beneficial to me. That goes for guitars too. 6 or 7 strings, 009-010-011 gauges, Strats, Pauls and other makes. They all influence what and how you play. Just one addicts opinion.
