Smuggling relish gigs in Denver Colorado
« on: July 01, 2006, 09:06:13 AM »
after 8 years of playing by myself in my seattle living room, i've relocated to denver and hooked up with my old band mates.

we're hosting the open mike at C.B. & potts on 120th and mariposa  more time on thursday 7/6.

never thought i'd be gigging with an alembic, the series II and both the series I's get stage time, as well as the steinberger when my back needs a break.

Tim,
Nice shot of you guys.
I stay overnight in Denver every once in a while and would love to go to an open mike or jam.  Do they happen regularly?  I'll get in touch next time and see what's happening.

Nice shot!  By the way, tell the manager that it's really bad form to be playing a tv right behind the band!

It's a pretty frequent occurence over this side of the pond Dave. Especially during the current football tournament. Shame they don't show the Tour de France instead - that would hold my attention almost as much as the dancers ;-)

We've finished up our stint there for a while, time to head back to the basement and learn some new material.  I don't know if this fretless has ever been gigged. It was in 9/10 condition when i got it a few years ago.  Other people don't like the small body/long neck combination, but i think it rules.

Well we had to fire our drummer and it looks like our singer is wavering but somehow we soldier on.  we did the garage band thing for a block party.  it was hot.  i think i have my stage setup finalized.  the fretless series I, fretted series II and a back brace underneath it all to keep me from turning into a cripple at the end of the gig :-)
