does anybody know how to contact someone who books shows? preferably in Indiana?

Take a demo CD and band picture around to club owners, fraternities and wherever else you think might be hiring a band in the next 6 months..

i think fraternities and clubs are out of the question, considering the fact that we're underage.

Fraternities should be okay, as long as you don't drink alcohol..

Some clubs that are more aligned with indie music will let you play, but you'll spend your breaks in the kitchen away from the alcohol..

Either or. I guess maybe saying instead that the clubs more aligned with new/original music will have a better attitude about hiring underaged bands, at least here in the midwest. Still, it's tough to break in to the music scene anywhere. And people wonder why there is so little new music these days...

As long as you are 18, clubs are usually cool with you playing. You may have stand outside before you play, maybe hang out in the kitchen. Oh the glory years. On the other side, if you are underage and you want to bring people to your shows, do a good job for your band adn the club, I'm guessing you have a lot of underage friends. Are there any teen centers in your area?

a lot of underage friends? oh yea. and a lot of shows go on in the 765 area, but we have a tough time getting any shows, whether the reason be us not being able to practice(or our guitarist not wanting to do it), or the people not taking us seriously. not to many bands take us seriously, just because we're 13 and 14 years old, regardless of how dedicated we are(which is very dedicated),and how well we play(which is very well[not to be arrogant or anything])

Seeing your the age you are. I would for sure suggest finding a teen center type place. Even maybe playing your school at lunch time might be a cool way to gain some new fans.

I think it's awesome you have a band to begin with and care to play out. I have a lot of students your age I urge to get involved with other players. A lot of the time they feel shy or not good enough. I always say you can learn so much being in a band that you can't learn in private lessons. Not discounting what I do of course =).

Yea well, my school is pretty sucky. I'm not sure if they'll let us play. Also, our lead guitarist is from another school. But we are trying out for our school's talent show.

Thank you. Yeah, I've done recitals with people who are afraid of playing. In 5th grade I was nervous of playing in front of people(well, singing not playing. I didn't know how to play bass back then). Now, I'm dying to get any show possible

The problem is still bad. Not to many people take us seriously. And it was worse before our last show. Nobody thought we were really any good. Then they saw us perform, they were amazed. Well, most of them. So, I don't really understand it, but it's their loss anyway.

At your age, you may do best just inviting friends over on a Friday evening to a concert in the garage or barn...

true. also, there's a park nearby that we can rent. it's only like $30. so we might be able to just raise some money.

oh yea, and there's a church only like 10 minutes away from us and to set up a show there, all they want is half of the profits made from the show
