Hi everyone!
« on: January 27, 2015, 05:20:02 PM »
I finally got my first Alembic, a 1995 Epic bass.  I am in love.  I started playing guitar many years ago, but eventually moved to bass as the sound had more appeal.  I made a similar shift from violin to viola for the same reason many years ago. I still play guitar, but mainly classical.  I look forward to drooling over all your beautiful Alembics!

Welcome!

It's great to have another guitarist / bassist around here.

Fortunately, Alembic is able to satisfy both passions!

Welcome to the club Sarah. Quite a few of us started with 1995 Epics but you'll soon find that one is not enough :-)

Welcome to our enchanted realm, Iceprincess Sarah . As our brother Graeme wrote , there is a distinct possibility that the acquisition and possession of these fine instruments seems to  multiply in quantity upon our own realizations of their magical charm . We are brothers and sisters and look out for each other to help with information and our own perceptions and experiences within our Alembic ownership. I have not found a more precious corner on the internet. There is so very much talent , intelligence and individuality here, and always love and respect. Truly our world seems to be exemplary and  thus seemingly enchanted and magical. Life is good and our Alembics make it even better.

Welcome to the Club Sarah! Graeme & Wolf are correct, Alembic ownership is both a privilege & an addiction! I once posted on here the There is no shame in Alembic monogamy but I just took delivery on my second one last month! As all have pointed out, this site is the Library of Congress & Smithsonian of all things Alembic so if you have any questions or just want to share pictures of your Epic or a fun story about people drooling over your bass, don't be shy! The members of this forum are the nicest, most respectful people on the planet & are more than happy to help you get the most enjoyment from your Alembic.

Hi Sarah; we had a major software bug hit us this weekend, and your user profile got wiped out along with some others.  Please see my note in the announcements section.  Essentially, you need to create a new account with the same username.  Please email me if you have any questions.  Thanks; and my apologies for the inconvenience.

Sarah, you will enjoy the forum; sometimes it gets ubergeeky, but it usually levels out quick in any topic and any bunch that will let a knuckle dragger (maker of '70's basement hillbilly punk as my drummer put it) like me into their midst either are nice people or not paying attention...they are paying attention, so they are nice people...Tony
