Ok guys, I registered on here shortly after I picked up my very first Alembic back in October 2013, but a bug in the board screwed up my account, so I've re-registered and thought I'd share this interesting story with you.
I've played bass for the last twenty years and for half of that, I was a dedicated Warwick guy (Corvette, Dolphin Pro I). The 'growl' was great but the weight of the bubinga babies, I never much cared for! Having grown up on Zeppelin, I knew that Alembic was the Cadillac of basses, but, living in the mid-west, I never had a chance to see one, much less try one out. All of that changed when the better half and I were in an antique shop in Norman, Oklahoma, perusing the aisles when I came across.....a 1994 Epic hanging on the wall behind a secretary. I couldn't believe it! An Alembic, right there in the flesh!!! Needless to say, my wife probably thought I was Rainman with a lottery ticket or something, because I scrambled, spiderman style, behind that furniture and snatched that bass like there was no tomorrow! She was in good shape, but a little dusty (the bass) and it was though I had just stumbled upon the obelisk in '2001: a space odyssey'. Once I picked my jaw up off the floor, I collected myself and strummed across the neglected strings...even with dust and the remnants of players past, I could tell this bass was special. Long story short, I bought her on the spot, took her home, cleaned and set her up and she's been my main bass since then! I consider myself beyond lucky and will definitely add more Alembics to the stable as time goes on. Here's what she sounds like, straight in:

Thank you for letting me be a part of this amazingly stellar group of musicians!
