I am glad to hear that you are so happy with the bass Kevin, thank you for the kind words. It was fun helping you decide and a a lot of fun seeing it being built; of course I followed the development pretty closely.
I'd have to say that my influence on this design was limited; all I did, back in early 2001, was inquire if it would be possible to have a triple omega version of then-fairly-new balance point shape. Mica said it was, took the template of the balance point, drew it on paper and then proceeded to insert sample omegas. She quickly realized that the side omegas would have to be smaller, because of the shape of the body, and also that they would have to be asymmetrical; I was ok with that, so we briefly experimented with a couple of different spots and settled on the ones that you see now. Next was the pistol grip which Mica easily incorporated into the design. I was up at the shop and it took maybe 1/2 hour at the most to do it and finalize it.
Dave, yes, that is a really nice piece of mahogany.
While a top mounted jack is standard in signature basses, Kevin asked to have his jack sidemounted.
Nice as the pictures are, I think they don't remotely do it justice.
Congratulations Kevin, have loads of fun with it.
