« on: March 12, 2005, 10:26:06 AM »
Finally got a few prints back from the processor - nowhere near Mica's standards but hopefully you'll get the picture..

A couple of that nice coco bolo

A shot of the head, five laminates front and back.the work that's gone into this is astounding

 Finally, a family shot.

Well spotted dave. That was my second attempt at building a bass which I made around about the time the RD came out. It's lined fretless (I used car body filler !) and has a very low action. I played it right up until the rogue came along.
The Precision is a '78 USA model which was originally a tobacco sunburst. A friend 'broke' his rick and rebuilt the P-bass with all the elictrics - including the 'rick-o-sound' stereo jack. I added the schaller bridge when I built the fretless - used the precision bridge on that.

Here she is with a set of DR Red Devils. I like the way the purpleheart neck laminates show up now.

Stunning!!  That is a beautiful bass and the Red Devils set off the purpleheart nicely.

That lawn needs some work though.... ;)

EDIT: I just saw the Epic- I like the Red Devils better, but the blue sure stands out against that Maple top-  Good stuff!

I keep opening this thread every time a new message is posted thinking, This is the day Graeme writes 'It is with much regret and sorrow that I have to inform you of my intent to sell this bass'

Drats.  Fooled again.

Peace,

Sorry James, but the only way anyone will ever have her is when they rip her from my cold dead fingers;-)

Astonishing contrast on this Coccobolo Top!

Great idea using this headstock Jacko, much more elegant than the usual cone peghead (specially on 5s - it seems to match better in 4 and 6 strings Rogues due to the more simetrical machine head's disposition).

Congratulations!

Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!
