I got the bass this morning!  wow.  i really like it.  i popped in the tone filter and q switch and it sounds great!  the 3 position q switch is nice-quite a variety of sounds (understatement). the neck is very comfy and it balances very very well on a strap or seated.  I actually recorded a quick little tune with it.  if anyone wants to hear:

it's all bass-except the loop of course.

thanks!  the bass is more orange in real life but i think that will age to a nice wine red and then to brown right?

From what I've read, I think that's what you can expect from vermillion. Should be a great experience for the both of you.

Hi Mica, I just purchased bumhucker's Excel. What a great Bass. I have been looking for a short scale Alembic to replace my Spoiler.
I will fill out the registration to transfer the ownership. Is there something I will need beside the Serial number. And can you give some info on the electronics/
